For the first time in many moves, I feel like I can truly make this space my own. While our other homes were beautiful, this one has a killer combo of great bones, all the character, and potential out the wazoo. When we first came to view the apartment, I knew it had all the things I was looking for, and I was so right! I knew it had the bones that would allow me to make this beautiful home my own.
I was very ambitious when I decided to paint the whole house. Well, I have successfully painted 3 of the 7 rooms that I originally intended to paint, and I’m pretty much tapped out. The living room, office, and bathroom are all painted in Benjamin Moore eggshell (Pale Oak on walls, Simply White on trim, and Head Over Heels on the one office wall).
As a professional photographer, I see a lot of beautiful things. I take inspiration from the many beautifully styled weddings, and I also take it from nature. In this space, I wanted to incorporate the natural with the leafy greens and the various antique wooden pieces. I wanted to tell our story with the various coastal photographs I’ve taken in the places (Georgia, Connecticut and Oregon) we’ve lived together.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram (and watching my ridiculously excited narration of the interesting people I’ve seen), then I’m sure you know we live on a busy street. Putting the dining room table in the bay window is the BEST decision I’ve ever made. I can watch everything happening outside, and it adds a lot of entertainment to my otherwise mundane workday.
